Mental Health & Student Wellness
Avoyelles Parish Schools is committed to supporting the social, emotional, and mental well-being of every student. Families, schools, and community partners all play an important role in helping students feel safe, supported, connected, and ready to learn.
Supporting the Whole Child
Mental health and wellness support can help students build healthy relationships, manage challenges, develop coping skills, and succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Student Support
Students may receive support related to emotional wellness, behavior, relationships, coping skills, attendance, and other concerns that can affect learning and school success.
Family Resources
Families can access information and resources designed to help them understand student mental health, identify concerns, and support children's emotional well-being at home.
Prevention & Wellness
Prevention, early identification, positive relationships, healthy coping skills, and access to appropriate support are important parts of student wellness.

- Major changes in mood or behavior
- Withdrawal from friends, family, or activities
- Difficulty coping with stress, grief, or major life changes
- Frequent anxiety, fear, sadness, or anger
- Changes in school attendance or academic performance
- Concerns about bullying, peer relationships, or social isolation
