Louisiana's Revised Accountability System
New System. New Expectations.
Louisiana has redesigned how schools are evaluated, placing a stronger emphasis on student growth, academic achievement, and preparation for the future.
The revised system focuses on three essential measures of student success: Grow. Achieve. Thrive.
Grow
Measures how much academic progress students make from year to year in English language arts and math. The system also places special emphasis on the growth of the lowest-performing 25% of students.
Achieve
Measures how well students meet academic expectations through performance in English language arts, math, science, and social studies.
Thrive
Measures how successfully high schools prepare students for life after graduation, including graduating on time and demonstrating readiness for college, careers, or other postsecondary pathways.
Elementary & Middle Schools
School performance is measured through Grow and Achieve.
High Schools
School performance is measured through Grow, Achieve, and Thrive.
Learn More About the Revised System
Why did Louisiana change the accountability system? The revised system is designed to raise expectations, emphasize student academic growth, and provide a clearer picture of how well schools prepare students for success.
Are all schools evaluated the same way? No. Elementary and middle schools are evaluated using Grow and Achieve. High schools are evaluated using Grow, Achieve, and Thrive. Indicator weights may also differ for schools with qualifying English Learner subgroups.
What are simulated 2025 scores? Simulated scores show what school results from 2025 might have looked like under the revised accountability system. These are unofficial estimates, not official 2025 ratings.
What should families remember? The new system establishes a different starting point for measuring school performance. Future results under the revised system will provide a more meaningful way to track progress over time.

LEAP Assessment Results
Louisiana's statewide LEAP assessments provide information about student performance in tested subjects and grade levels. These results help educators and families understand how students are performing relative to state academic expectations.
ACT Results
ACT results provide information about student achievement and college readiness. They are one of several measures that can help students, families, and educators plan for opportunities after high school.

How Do Assessments Connect to Grow & Achieve?
Under Louisiana's revised accountability system, Grow focuses on student academic progress, while Achieve focuses on meeting academic expectations. State assessment results help inform these measures, but an individual student's test score is not the same as a school's overall accountability score.
