Paraprofessional

Avoyelles Parish Schools is accepting applications for Paraprofessional positions. Paraprofessionals support classroom instruction and provide additional assistance to students individually and in small groups.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school graduate, preferably with some college coursework
  • Experience working with children
  • Ability to read well and write legibly
  • Must meet at least one of the following qualification pathways:
    • Pass the Educational Testing Service Para-Pro Assessment (#0755) with a passing score of 450
    • Complete two years of full-time study totaling 48 semester credit hours from a state-approved or regionally accredited institution of higher education
    • Earn an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate of Applied Science degree from a state-approved or regionally accredited institution of higher education
  • Required coursework within the 48 semester hours must include English Composition, English/Reading, and Mathematics
  • Must pass a criminal background investigation and/or drug screen

Food Service Technician

Avoyelles Parish Schools is accepting applications for the position of Food Service Technician. This position supports the district's school food service program and assists with food preparation, service, storage, safety, and daily food service operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent degree required
  • Willingness to participate in required in-service training, workshops, meetings, and professional development
  • Excellent physical and mental health as verified by a physician
  • Food service experience is desirable
  • Pleasant personality and cooperative attitude
  • Understanding of the overall school food service program
  • Must complete required fingerprinting, TB testing, drug seminar, and drug testing
  • Must pass a criminal background investigation and/or drug screen

Position Information
9-month position reporting to the Food Service Manager.

Finance Director

Avoyelles Parish Schools is accepting applications for the position of Finance Director. The Finance Director oversees district financial operations and helps ensure the prudent management and expenditure of school system funds.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree with a minimum of 24 hours of business-related courses, such as accounting, finance, or management
  • Certified Public Accountant licensed in Louisiana
  • Master's degree in public or business administration
  • Three years of work experience in a field relevant to the duties and responsibilities of a lead school business administrator, including accounting, finance, or other areas of fiscal management

12-month position reporting to the Superintendent.
