The Avoyelles Parish School Board is now accepting applications for the following positions:
  
Hearing Impaired K-12
       Qualifications: Individual must hold a valid early childhood certificate, elementary or middle school certificate, secondary certificate, special education certificate, or an all-level K-12 certificate and achieved the following:  21 semester credit hours that pertain to children with hearing impairments, 3 semester hours of internship of students with hearing impairments; or three years of successful teaching experience of students with hearing impairments, proficiency in signed, cued, or oral communication, passing score for Praxis exams----Special Education:  Core Content Knowledge and Applications or Special Education:  Education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Early Interventionist Birth to Five Years
       Qualifications: Individual must hold a valid early childhood certificate, elementary or middle school certificate, secondary certificate, special education certificate, or an all-level K-12 certificate and achieved the following:  Passing score for Praxis exams: Principle of Learning and Teaching; Early Childhood and Special Education: Early Childhood, 18 credit hours that pertain to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, and 9 semester hours of reading coursework.

Computer Systems Specialist
       Qualifications: Individual must hold a valid Louisiana Teacher's Certificate, Master's Degree in Education, Knowledge of computer operation and software, minimum 5 years classroom teaching experience, all computer reports to the SDE in regard to the Special Education Program. Coordinate all aspects of special education professional development by specific area. Serve as a technical mentor to all special education teachers. Maintain email database of all special education teachers. Maintains the special education budget on computer and performs other duties as assigned by the Special Education Supervisor.
