Applications may be obtained at the Avoyelles Parish School Board Office, 221 Tunica Drive West, Marksville, La.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years’ experience preferred in an information technology related field, preferably networking/telecommunications.  Computer Certifications:  Microsoft, Network+.  Computer expertise required:  Extensive knowledge of the following technologies:  Networking, TCP/IP, Ethernet, Cisco IOS, Cisco hardware, Microsoft Windows Server OS, Microsoft Virtual Servers, Active Directory, Telephone wiring standards, PC compatible hardware, Scripting.  Knowledge and ability to perform network monitoring and troubleshooting techniques.  Working knowledge or better of all applications in the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.  Must be willing to attend training and maintain current certifications.

School Custodian

Qualifications:

Must have a high school diploma; GED, or Equivalent work experience in field.  Have knowledge of the following:  The principles of heating, ventilating sanitation, and care of school buildings.  The best tools, materials, cleaning agents, and methods to use in various phases of custodial work.  The correct use of mechanical equipment of school buildings.  A physical may be required.  Must pass a criminal background investigation and/or drug screen.

Food Service Technicians

Qualifications:

Must have high school diploma or equivalent degree is

                             preferred. Must have an understanding of overall

                             school food service program.   Before a person can be 

                             hired to work in school food service, they must be 

                             fingerprinted, have a TB test, go through a drug 

                             seminar, and be drug tested.  Must pass a criminal 

                             background investigation and/or drug screen.  Much

                             have excellent health.

 Paraprofessional

Qualifications:  High school graduate, preferably some college work,

                             experience working with children, and ability to read well

                             and to write legibly.  Must have accomplished at least

                             one of the following:  Passed the educational Testing

                             Service (ETS) Para-Pro Assessment (ETS Para-Pro Assess-  

                             ment (#0755) passing score:  450); or completed two

                             years of full-time study (48 semester credit hours) from

                             a state-approved or regionally accredited institution of

                             higher education.  Within the forty-eight semester hours,

                             the applicant must complete a total of general education

                             requirements that include English Composition (3),

                             English/Reading (6), and Mathematics (6).  Must be 21 years old

                             or older.
