The Avoyelles Parish School Board is now accepting applications for the following positions:

Academically Gifted Teacher

Qualifications:

Valid Louisiana teaching certificate; 15 graduate semester hours of prescribed coursework from the following list, either within a graduate degree program or as an add-on to an existing graduate degree; characteristics/study of gifted individuals; methods of teaching the gifted; social and emotional needs of the gifted; creative thinking and problem solving or curriculum development for the gifted; educational technology; and 3 semester hours in a practicum for academically gifted, an internship for college credit in academically gifted,  or 3 years of successful teaching  experiene in academically gifted with all out-of-state experience verified as successful by the out-of-state employing authority or SEA.

Deadline for submitting application on the above position will be on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

Interviews for the above position will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at the School Board Office.

The Avoyelles Paris h School Board is now accepting applications fo r the following position: School Custodian

 

Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma; GED, or Equivalent work experience in the field; have knowledge of the following: The principles of heating, ventilating sanitation, and care of school buildings. The best tools, materials, cleaning agents, and methods to use in various phases of custodial work. The correct use of mechanical equipment of school buildings. A physical may be required. Must pass a criminal background investigation and/or drug screen.

 

TERMS OF EM PLOYMENT: Twelve (12) months

The Avoyelles Paris h School Board is now accepting applications fo r the following position: Paraprofessional

 

Qualifications: High school graduate, preferably some college work, experience working with children, and ability to read well and to write legibly. Must have accomplished at least one of the following: Passed the educational Testing Service (ETS) Para-Pro Assessment (ETS Para-Pro Assessment (#0755) passing score: 450; or completed two years of full-time study (48 semester credit hours) from a state-approved or regionally accredited institution of higher education. Within the forty-eight semester hours, the applicant must complete a total of general education requirements that include English Composition (3), English/Reading (6), and Mathematics (6).
